So, week 4 with a broken arm begins (I feel like I should have a jacques cousteau accent). The sea has been wicked my friends...and, I have 3 more weeks to go on this boat-boo to the hiss! I went back to my orthopedist today and while I'm healing okay, I have to go to a Physical Therapist because my flexibility is a little behind (that's sad-my arm has to go to summer school). Argh. I told Charlie in the ER that they were going to make me move it and I was going to refuse. Well, I guess I can't refuse any longer. Actually, I've been a good little patient and have been moving it as I was supposed to-and some of my movement is fine-but I can't flex my arm very far-it just sort of stops. And, I can only extend so far before I want to cry. So, I don't do that often. But, now I'm going to have to (the xray tech tried to make me straighten it completely today-I was like, um, no. You do realize it's broken and I haven't straightened it in weeks?). And, now I'm probably going to cry or kick the therapist-or both when I go in tomorrow. I wonder if they wear shin guards for such occasions? I mean, they are merchants of pain-they make you move stuff you don't really want to.
The shining star on my visit today is that I get to take off my brace occasionally for sleep and general relaxation-yay! I have to wear it the rest of the time for the next 3 weeks -but still, just getting a break from it occasionally will be fanfreakintastic! Having a bionic arm really isn't that fun. It might look supercool (let me stress "might" in that sentence-I'm going to go with "crazy" as an alternate), but it's not. But, I do have strangers talking to me b/c of it-and we all know how much I love that. I was shocked how many people would just come out and say, "What happened to you!?" I need to come up with some embarassing answers (repairing a baby arm, etc).
So, take my advice, don't break an arm. Just collapse those babies next to your body and do a faceplant...okay, maybe not-but try to go for the butt (and besides, twisting to land that way has to look much cooler than the ridiculous fall I took-that ended up with me totally splayed on the field like an action figure thrown off of a balcony).

Definitely kick them. It's only fair. And I love the Twilight posts : ) Smart girls read vampire novels, too. I don't care what Margaret says.
